KPI + MUFTI

“Fuck! Fucking bastard! Pick up the phone!! Fuck You!!!...(moment when someone pick up the phone) Hello, good morning, pass me to you director please, is regarding to water project here!”

This is basically happen in our sales department office. People here are very aggressive and impatience because they have to keep their KPI (keep performance indicator) high and is stressful for them to achieve minimum 150 calls per day, at least 12 pitches to the decision makers like CEO, directors and managing directors on the phone. Apart from that, boss who always has his STARBUCKS coffee on his hand like to patrol in the office and reproach employees on the sales performances. It is pretty cool if someone manages to get sales because basically our events are based on USD and he or she would go to ring a bell located at the middle of the office and encircled by the clapping sound in the office. This is a very good idea for motivating employee to achieve their goals. However, if the sales performance is bad for the day, everyone will need to stand out to do the calling. The whole ambience in the office is tense, uneasy and even make you can’t breathe properly.

Mufti! How many of you know mufti day? Well, this is a culture from America where is a day all office employees are encouraged to wear casual clothing rather than formal or stupid “official” suits. Through a research, it was found that Mufti helps to improve productivity and many westernize companies do encourage this behavior in their working environment. Guys, what do you think about this? I personally agree with this statement, employee tend to be more relax and comfortable with their casual wear; just like someone told me before, untie your tie on your neck and feel the oxygen reach your brain, make you fresh!! Alright, why am I talking so much crap on Mufti? This is because my company does practice this culture but not for every Friday. Boss will announce particular Friday for Mufti on Thursday evening which is depending on our sales performance. The first time when I got to know this culture, I was like so happy because no need to wear those stupid suits or uniforms to the office. Just wear whatever you like, even bikini! Just joking, none of us wear bikini to the office la! But after the first experience on MUFTI, I regret and dislike this stupid MUFTI! Reason: Mufti is known as a reward to employees from the boss, of course we need to pay for these. Boss expected better performance! We got to stand up for the whole morning or a day to do the calling. This is just like a punishment when you are in primary school for not doing homework and get punished by teacher for standing in the classroom for the whole lesson. Whenever I heard of MUFTI, Screwy! Phobia!
